THE CROW'S JOURNEY
The Crow’s Journey
In the land of Verdant Plains, a young crow named Kiva often gazed at the horizon, dreaming of a far-off mountain known as the Pinnacle of Light. Legend said it was a place of peace, wisdom, and fulfillment. Kiva’s heart burned with a desire to reach it.
One crisp morning, she spread her wings and began her journey. As she flew steadily, she noticed a group of brightly colored sparrows zipping past her. "Kiva!" they called. "Why are you flying so slowly? You’ll never reach the mountain at that pace!"
Kiva hesitated. Their speed was impressive, their laughter tempting. But deep inside, she felt a gentle nudge, a whisper she had often heard in her prayers: “Stay the course, child. Walk with Me, and I will lead you.”
So she smiled and replied, “I’d rather be slow with God and sure of my path than rush ahead and lose my way.”
The sparrows shook their heads and darted off, leaving her alone.
Along the way, Kiva faced challenges. A fierce storm arose, tossing her back and forth. She clung to a branch and prayed, whispering, “Lord, I trust You. Strengthen me.” The storm passed, and she noticed how the winds had carried her closer to her destination.
Further ahead, Kiva met a golden hawk perched on a rock. His feathers shimmered, and his voice was deep and inviting. “Why struggle, little crow?” he said smoothly. “I know a quicker route to the mountain. Follow me, and you’ll reach it in no time.”
Kiva tilted her head, her heart unsettled. She had read scriptures about deceivers in disguise. “No,” she said firmly. “I’ll walk with God, even if it takes longer. Better to crawl with Him than fly with the devil.”
The hawk’s golden feathers dimmed, and he flew off with a piercing screech.
As Kiva journeyed on, she grew weary. The days stretched into months, and doubts crept into her mind. But each time, she remembered the words from her prayers:
- “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- “Though you walk through the valley, I am with you.”
One day, as the sun rose over the plains, Kiva reached the foot of the mountain. It was taller and steeper than she had imagined, but she felt a deep peace. She began to climb, step by step, wing by wing, until at last, she stood on the Pinnacle of Light.
The view was breathtaking—a vast expanse of golden light and endless beauty. She felt the presence of God all around her, filling her with joy and purpose. Tears of gratitude fell as she whispered, “Thank You for guiding me, Lord.”
From her perch, she saw the sparrows and hawk below, circling aimlessly. They had hurried through shortcuts, chasing glittering paths that led nowhere. Kiva’s heart ached for them, and she prayed they, too, would find the right path one day.
As she rested in the light, she remembered a verse she had carried in her heart all along:
- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
From that day forward, Kiva became a beacon for others, sharing her story and reminding them:
“Better to crow with God and reach the destination than to hurry through life and find you’ve walked with the devil.”
What do you think? Would you like me to adjust anything?
