WHY I KISSED DATING GOOD BYE
Simon Kissed Dating Goodbye
Simon had always been a dreamer. From the time he was a child, he had envisioned a future filled with purpose and adventure. Yet, unlike most of his peers, Simon never found himself entangled in the whirlwind of romantic relationships. While others eagerly sought companionship, he walked a different path—a path that often left people puzzled.
He was a young man of strong convictions, raised in a home where faith was more than just a Sunday obligation. His parents had taught him that love was sacred, and relationships were not just a pursuit of emotions but a journey of commitment. He observed the world around him and saw the heartbreaks, the betrayals, and the shallow affections that often left people feeling emptier than before. While he wasn’t opposed to love, Simon wanted something deeper—something that went beyond fleeting emotions and social expectations.
In university, Simon became a curious subject of discussion among his friends.
“Why haven’t you dated anyone yet?” they would ask, bewildered.
He would chuckle, shaking his head. “I guess I’m waiting for something more meaningful.”
His friends thought he was being too cautious, too reserved. They teased him, saying he was missing out on ‘the best years of his life.’ But Simon was unshaken. He had watched his friends jump from one relationship to another, seeking fulfillment yet ending up hurt and confused. He didn’t want to walk that road.
It wasn’t that Simon had never felt attraction. There were times when he noticed a girl’s kindness or admired someone’s intelligence. But every time he thought about stepping into a relationship, something held him back. It was as if an unseen force whispered, Not yet. There’s more to life.
One evening, as Simon walked home from an outreach program, he encountered a young woman sitting alone on a bench. She looked troubled, lost in thought. Something in her demeanor compelled him to stop.
“Hey, are you okay?” he asked gently.
The woman looked up, surprised. Her eyes were red, as if she had been crying.
“I just... I don’t know anymore,” she whispered. “I gave my heart to someone who said he loved me. But he left. And now, I feel empty.”
Simon sat beside her, listening as she poured out her heart. He realized that this was not just her story—it was the story of so many. People searching for love, giving away their hearts only to be left broken. He felt a deep burden, not just for her, but for all those who had been deceived by the world’s shallow version of love.
That night, as he lay on his bed, Simon prayed earnestly. Lord, is this why You kept me from dating? Is there something greater You want me to do?
A quiet peace filled his heart, and a realization dawned upon him. He was not meant to chase after fleeting relationships. He was meant to chase after something eternal.
From that day on, Simon committed himself to something greater. He decided to win souls for Christ. Love, he realized, was not just about romantic affection—it was about pointing people to the One who loved them first.
And so, Simon kissed dating goodbye—not out of fear, but out of a calling, though about marriage is in his mind so that he can handle over the mantle to generations. He was determined to bring people to a love that never failed, to a Savior who never abandoned. And as he embarked on this new journey, he couldn’t help but wonder... what lay ahead? What more did God have in store?
The story was just beginning.
